Sachs Madass proves it is no reason for a sore ass!

With funky design, amazing colours and very affordable pricing it is no
surprise. Veteran Motorcycle Courier Nick Healey’s interest in the
MadAss was sparked by its outrageous yet practical styling: a
contemporary postie bike on steroids. He called the Sachs Australian
importer Mojo Motorcycles Pty Ltd. with a proposal to swap his ailing
CT110 for a MadAss to circumnavigate Australia.
Nick left Melbourne aboard a bright yellow MadAss 125, heading north on
the Hume highway. Through New South Wales and into Queensland the
journey was plain sailing and without incident, the mad duo eating up
the kilometers. On to central Australia and some sightseeing, roadside
camping and on the Stuart Highway a “meet and greet” with a pet camel.
A tyre change in Alice Springs, a service in Katherine, and then
onwards north and west into Western Australia.
Some well earned R&R in Broome before setting off southwards and
into Perth. Between Balladonia and Mandura the MadAss got its best fuel
economy of the whole trip, 2.07 litres per 100 kms. A pit stop in Pt
Pirie for a service and on down into Adelaide where the wine belt
north-east of Adelaide is always fabulous riding. Onwards to Melbourne,
finally returning after 60 days in the saddle, unscathed, on a
spectacularly sunny day in late October.
Nick reckons “the fuel economy was outstanding returning an average of
an amazing 2.76 litres per 100 kms over the 17,107 km journey (total
fuel cost of just $576). The minimalist, eye-catching, naked styling
turns heads wherever the bike goes. Amazingly the great riding position
and well cushioned seat did not give me a sore “ass” and I should know
after years astride a CT110 delivering parcels”
Available in black, silver, white or yellow the Sachs MadAss 125, as
ridden by Nick, is available from dealers all across Australia for just
$2,990 plus ORC.
